Our story

Built for a transition no one prepares you for

Fourth Harbor exists because the return to work after maternity leave is one of the most complex transitions in a professional woman's life, and almost no one treats it that way.

Where this began

The current gap

When professional mothers return to work, they face a collision of worlds. The logistics are relentless. The identity shift is disorienting. The workplace expects continuity where there is none.

There is no shortage of parenting support, wellness resources, or general coaching. But structured, practical guidance for the professional transition itself? That gap is real, and it impacts high-performing women's confidence, their clarity, and sometimes their careers.

Fourth Harbor was built to fill that gap.

This transition deserves the same care and intention you bring to everything else.

There's a particular feeling that comes with returning to work after having a child. You're not lost, but you're not yet steady. You're in between.

Sailors call that place a harbor.

The name Fourth Harbor comes from the idea that most women build their identity in layers: first a self, then a career, then a family. The return to work is the fourth layer, and the hardest, because for the first time you're not adding something new. You're figuring out how all of it fits together.

Fourth Harbor is a safe place to navigate that transition.

Our mission

Our Mission

To make the return to work a supported transition, not a solo struggle.

We believe that professional mothers should not have to piece together their return alone, relying on fragments of advice from colleagues, forums, and well-meaning friends.

They deserve structured support, practical planning, and someone in their corner who understands both the professional and personal dimensions of this transition. And so do the organizations they return to.

Working mothers who are well-supported come back with something most companies don't expect: amplified ambition, sharper creativity, and a persistence that only comes from navigating something genuinely hard. When the return goes well, everyone benefits.

What we stand for

The principles behind everything we build

Structure over vagueness

Emotional support matters, but it is not enough on its own. We pair it with concrete planning, clear frameworks, and actionable steps — all grounded in research on maternal transitions, identity development, and workforce reentry.

The whole person

Your career does not exist in isolation. We account for the logistics, the identity, the relationships, and the emotional weight, all at once.

No assumptions

Every return is different. We start by understanding your specific reality before offering a single recommendation.

This transition deserves more

Returning to work after maternity leave is one of the most significant identity shifts in a modern woman's life. It deserves more than a checklist, a pep talk, or a policy. It deserves real, structured, human support.
